The lobby spiral staircase for the InterContinental Hotel in Dongguan, located within one of the city’s four major commercial districts. The lobby is bright and open, with floor-to-ceiling curtain walls drawing in natural light and a consistent matte black finish running through the interior. When the project came to us, the structural staircase was already in place — but the exterior cladding and finishing work had stalled.
